After many years of enjoying their house and raising their children, these empty nesters wanted to modernize and expand their 1980’s home in Lost Creek. With their love for food and cooking in mind, we expanded the kitchen so they could accommodate family and friends during dinner parties and holiday events. We modernized almost every surface in the home, appointed the front entrance with a beautiful pivot door and reorganizing walls and windows. This project brings the jaw dropping hill country views inside with the insertion of butt glazed glass at the back elevation to draw you further into the space.
The custom banquet at the kitchen has become the family’s favorite gathering spot with amazing canyon views. The master suite was redefined with new finish selections, space planning that brought in additional natural light and an elegant master bathroom. The covered terrace off the back of the house was added and has become a second living area for the family. With all of these changes, it was important to the architect and clients that the home still fit within the context of the neighborhood and remain comfortable and sensible. The home is now truly designed for the owners to experience the result of all of their hard work and partnership. In memory of Russell Lewis.
